To our little piece of cyberspace. We hope you enjoy it, and find it informative. Maybe even better than the black & white newsletter mailed every month. Please feel free to contact the lodge with any suggestions or ideas.

Well, well, well.
Fellow members of the Moose,
Boy does time fly. It seems like just
yesterday we had out our winter
jackets to brave the weather to
make it down to the lodge. Wait, it
was just yesterday. Ha, Ha. Really
summer is here, and we hope to
see your bright smiles down at the
lodge for a little cooling off on the
those hot summer days.
We are still very actively looking for
more volunteers, and people with
ideas of new (or old) fun things to
do around the lodge. If you look
around it is always the same people
doing the same things, so some
fresh help and ideas are always
very welcome.
I should take time to thank all of
our members and volunteers for
helping the lodge be a great and
pleasant place to be. With out all of
you we could not keep the doors
open, because it does take eaters,
drinkers and helpers to make this a
place worth coming back to. We
(the board) do truly thank you.
On the lighter side, with the
addition of the new cooling unit on
the bar fridge we are hoping to
have colder beer with more
varieties on draft. Doesn’t that
sound refreshing….and the ice
always keeps the stiff drinks cool,
but you knew that. Did I mention we
have Air Conditioning that will cool
you down too. So come on down to
the place that everyone knows your
name, well at least some of the
people know your name.
See you at the lodge,
Jay Hooper
Governor
Hello Moose Members,
Summer is finally here! We can play outside again...Yeah! After you are
finished sunning and swimming, come on down to the lodge and have a cold
one. Or beat the heat in your kitchen and have dinner at the Moose. Our
kitchen is serving Wed, Thur, and Friday...every week. Don’t forget the bar is
also serving snack foods, so there is always something available.
Sign up now in the pool room for Fraternal Pool League starting Sept. 1st.
The Moose pool team took 1st place for 2006-2007. We’re trying to get two
teams this year. Our captain was Darrell Kendall, along with Rick Chinchen,
Denny Byers, Jim Tipton, Larry Ziegler, Don Jensen, Rob Peters, BJ Mayclin, and
Jason Ziegler. Way to go guys!
We have a new poker table at the lodge (Thank you Matt Schlecht). Card
carrying Moose members (keep it on ya), are welcome to play any time the bar is
open.
Tuesday, July 8 we are having our monthly poker tourney. Come and try
your luck! Friday July 25 will be a Black Jack Tourney...do you feel lucky?
I want to thank our members who have been participating in our weekly
events...we couldn’t make it without you. Thanks for showing your support, and
bringing your friends and family in for your parties and special events. Way to
support your lodge!
Finally, Friday August 8, we will be having a beach party here at the lodge.
We will be serving dinner and drinks outside. Halibut for dinner, drink specials,
raffles, music...lots of fun! See you in the sun! Enjoy the summer.
See you at the Moose,
Cindy

Hello,
Thank you to the volunteers who
helped with Fathers Day Dinner. If it
hadn’t been for you, the evening
would have not been successful. We
had a great turn out for the “Human
Moose Races” keep watching the
calendar for future events like this,
as it was a great time had by all.
We are going to try something to get
our member’s inputs on happenings
(or not happenings) at our Moose
Lodge. We would truly appreciate
your input in things that are going on
at the Moose or things that you
would like to see happen to bring you
down to the Moose. We have a
wonderful lodge, but it needs more
Moose members to come down and
enjoy it! Please complete the
questionnaire in the newsletter and
return at your convenience.
A reminder that there is a donation
of $20 going on right now to help
purchase new chairs for the Dining
area. We had enough donations to
replace the chairs in the Lounge and
they look great. Now we just need to
continue the look into the Dining
room. If you would like to help out,
see one of our Bartenders.
Hope you can make it into the Lodge
to “cool” down with one of your many
drink specials we offer.
See you there!
Carissa Hooper
Senior Regent
Hey all,
What these next few months lack in the way of big lodge events, they more than
make up for in new ones. New to the board of officers this year, Matt Schlecht
has jumped right in and is starting a Monday Texas Holdem tournament. This will
be on a smaller money scale than our other monthly tournament, but as a weekly
event, will offer what the poker crowd has been wanting...more cards! Come and
check it out.
Speaking of tournaments...Hats off to our Governor, Jay Hooper, for a super
job on the District 4 golf tourney. This was his first year running this event, and
what a success!
Thanks to everyone who donated for the new chairs. We’re getting ready to
make the next purchase (25 chairs). We need about 50 more to complete the
lounge and ballroom. There’s still time to donate if you would like. Each chair
costs us $20.00.
While we’re on the subject of costs...there will be a few added ones to the
kitchen. Prices at the grocery store have gone up significantly, and we’ve had to
place additional costs on some of the dinner extras. Starting with Wednesdays;
cheese burgers will be 25 cents more. Extra tarter sauce (more than one) will
also be an additional quarter. There will also be $1 added to “To Go” meals.
This is to cover costs of containers and wraps. And lastly, our tacos….the gals
have been working so hard doing tacos on Thursdays. Unfortunately, they are
going backwards with regards to profit. I think we can all agree that 50 cents is an
almost laughable price for the taco you get here. In fact, it’s a bargain at twice the
price, so tacos are going up to $1 each. I’ll be the first to admit to an extreme
dislike for raising prices, but we simply have no choice.
The new members have been flocking in to play cards. Let’s keep signing
them up! Spread the word...this is a fun place to be!
We’re installing a new cooler unit for the bar, so the beer should be really
cold this summer. That’s worth dropping by for!
Lastly, don’t forget to get me your email addresses (if you haven’t already).
Send them to admin@moose530.org, or you can email me at home:

See you at the lodge - BJ
